How did our top 6 teams perform in the weekend. An overview of Match Day 12

Yes, my prediction has went wrong and in a surprising turn of events, Arsenal have indeed defeated the high flying Spurs with a 2-0 victory in the north London Derby.
There were a lot of other interesting stuffs that happened in the past weekend but the North London Derby tops it all. Boy did Arsenal and especially Wenger needed that victory or what? As always Sanchez was their main man. Arsenal were the team who from the start wanted the victory more than their arch rivals and to be honest, the victory was well deserved. To many fans and pundits alike, this result had come both as a shock and as a surprise for no one expected, Tottenham to return without even scoring a goal. The result however had little impact on the table as Arsenal still sit 6th while Tottenham are on 4th but the point difference has now been reduced to just a single point and that is a biggie.

Now, let’s have a look and analyse how the other 4 teams in the top 6 have fared.

Manchester City               : This team is just not showing any sign of slowing down. They have all the qualities of setting quite a few records this season and given City’s current form I doubt if there is a team that might actually topple them.
They are the only undefeated team in the Premier League and also boast the highest Goal Difference of all. 33 is the GD to be precise and that is massive. It’d really be a shock if City don’t win the League this season.

Manchester United        : This team had quite a few surprises in store for us as Pogba returned from injury and also in came the big Swede. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is back. Having lost their last premier League match against Chelsea, it was quite crucial that United win their match to stay in the hunt and that is precisely what they did and that too in style. A 4-1 victory over Newcastle places them 2nd in the Premier League but they are still 8 points being their City rivals and have a lot to do if they want a crack at the title.

Chelsea                                                : The Blues secured their fourth consecutive victory by ruthlessly defeating West Brom with a 0-4 victory. This victory was made even sweeter as the loyal blues were able to see the very best of Eden Hazard as the Belgian score two goals for himself and also had a hand in Morata’s goal. The team played flawlessly and showed great team work in each of their goals. They now sit 3rd in the table and have reduced the gap with Manchester City down to 9 points and in the near future they can also go 2nd in the table if things go their way and go south for United.

Liverpool                             : Mohammed Salah, a reject by Mourinho is now apparently the main man for the Reds. He now has 14 goals already from 18 games for Liverpool and could easily be the signing of the season. He scored two goals for Liverpool in their 3-0 victory over Southampton. They now sit 5th in the table only a point below the fourth place Tottenham. If only Klopp could further add some quality to his squad and if his attackers continue to perform in the same manner, I do believe that, not only will they finish in the top 4 but one or the other trophy is waiting for them at the end of the season.

That’s it for now folks. See you later with another read to interest you.

Peace
