What's next for Carlo Acelotti?
There is no denying the fact
that Carlo Ancelotti is one of the best managers in Football. He is undoubtedly
a high profile manager.
Just looking at his statics as
a manger will tell you everything you need to know about him.
Ø He had
won domestic titles in all the countries he has managed : Italy, England,
France, Spain, and Germany
Ø So far, Ancelotti
has won the Champions league three times as a manager : Milan (2002-03 & 2006-07)
and Real Madrid (2013-14)
Ø He has won, almost 9
manager/coach of the year awards so far in his career
Regardless of whatever that he has achieved,
Bayern Munich and Carlo Ancelotti were not the right mix from the start. It
just didn’t feel right.
Winning the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich is
not enough, just because of the fact that they are the only dominant team in
the league there. Champions League glory is what they crave for and Ancelotti
has not been able to deliver it and following their 3-0 defeat at the hands of PSG,
Carlo Ancelotti was sacked.
To be honest, Bayern really were right and
wrong to sack him. Obviously they did not win the 2016-17 league title in their
usual dominant fashion or as they did in style under Pep Guardiola but they did
win it, right? But that wasn’t enough for them. If you are Bayern Munich, then
you have to win the league in style which Ancelotti obviously failed to do.
Also, he had a lot of issues with some of
Bayern’s senior players with the likes of Ribery, Muller and Hummels all
showing their lack of fondness towards Ancelotti. You just cannot manage a team
with so many discomforts. Parting ways was the best for both Bayern Munich and
Carlo Ancelotti.
The reason why they were wrong to sack him because,
at the moment they cannot find a better coach than Carlo Ancelotti.
So, now that he’s sacked, what is next for the
Italian?
A return to Italy and managing teams like AC
Milan or even the Italy national team is a possibility but there has been a lot
of talks about him returning the Premier League and taking over West Ham United.
So let’s consider that he’s coming to the Premier League.

Well, one of the things to consider is money.
Are West Ham United ready to spend heavily on a manger just after a few months
of spending spree in the transfer market? I don’t think so. The 2nd
point to consider is the players. Every team that Ancelotti had coached were
filled with attacking talents and that has brought him huge success, West Ham
are good but they are no match for his Milan team or Chelsea or Real Madrid. Which
again leads us into asking, will West Ham spend once again in the winter? I don’t
think so.
So, if West Ham are not the right option for
him, which team can he succeed in the Premier League, given that he intends to
work in England and already has a house there from his time as Chelsea boss.
Without a shadow of doubt I would go for
Arsenal or Tottenham but I really don’t think that Spurs have any intention of
parting ways with Pochettino after how he had turned the team into real contenders.
So I’ll give him another year or two at White Hart Lane but a serious change is
needed at Arsenal and here are my reasons for it.
Ø Let’s face it,
Wenger has not been a winner for a long time and Ancelotti who has been always
been a winner will bring in that mentality to the dressing room and that is
very important and necessary to the team.
Ø With a change in
management, it’s possible for the club to convince players like Sanchez and
Ozil to renew their contracts and not only that, they can get their hands on
many other talents.
Ø Arsenal have many
players who are attack minded and that suits Ancelotti perfectly.
Ø Arsenal will not be
able to find a better coach to replace Wenger. Yes, they can go for Simeone, if
he’s available but he will be another Klopp. He’ll be someone who can bring
success but will take his time to settle down but Arsenal have been waiting to
grab success for a long time and can’t afford to wait any longer.
Ø Unlike Wenger, Ancelotti
is a cunning businessman. Look at the transfers he had in the past.
o Isco
o James Rodriguez
o Gareth Bale
o David Luiz
Ø Last but not least,
every Italian manager has won the Premier League and Arsenal definitely need
that trophy to restore their pride and honour.
I just love and admire Ancelotti. So, if he
does come to England, let it be for Arsenal for I really want to see Arsenal
become winners once again. They have been waiting a long time for success and
this change could be the start of a new era at The Emirates.
