Roma Vs Chelsea : Yet another exciting encounter

The first encounter between these two teams in this year’s Champions League competition ended in a 3-3 draw. The result might not have reflected the mentality of the players and the managers but there is no denying the fact that it was one of the most exciting matches we have witnessed this season. A stunning goal by Edin Dzeko and one of the best fighting spirit displays in football by Chelsea in recent times made the match a spectacle.

It was in that match we saw how the desire to win can motivate big teams like Chelsea and Roma to push themselves to the limit.

Now, we have the reverse fixture tonight where Chelsea travel the home of the Italian giants. The reason why this match could be even better than the previous one if because, of the form in which both the teams are at the moment. After their draw against Roma, Chelsea have won three consecutive matches while Roma too have won their last three matches and also have kept clean sheets in all three of them. Both teams will enter this match with high confidence and will try to extend their winning run.

Another interesting aspect in the game is both teams have defensive problems which needs to be addressed and but still they have been winning games. This shows that from the attacking perspective both teams are on the same level and the fight for a victory will be even.

Antonio Conte has a mounting pressure on his shoulders because of Chelsea’s inconsistent performance in the Premier League this season and the need to continue a fine form in the league. Also, he needs his squad to avoid any injury in tonight’s clash as they already have injury crisis with Victor Moses, N’Golo Kante and Dany Drinkwater all out injury and en-route to recovery. Not only that, Conte needs his squad to be fully fit for Chelsea’s match against Manchester United which comes shortly after Roma.

So far, Roma have no injury concerns at their hand but that no means is a certainty that they will return fit after the game. They also have the Serie A to consider which they are trying hard to win.

Over all, this is a match where heavy weights of equal caliber collide and after a spectacular show of football in their previous encounter we can only expect tonight’s game to be even better.
