Which team would best suit Anthony Martial?
In my previous post I had stated
that, it’d be best of Anthony Martial to call it a time for his Manchester
United career if he does not find the proper game time that he deserves. Also,
to add some spice to this claim of mine, recent reports have suggested that the
21 year old French forward is a target for both Barcelona and Arsenal who want
a perfect replacement for Dembele and Sanchez respectively. So, in this post
we’re going to talk about some potential suitors for this pacey Frenchman
should he consider leaving The Red Devils.
There is no doubt that Martial
has admirers in abundance and any top club would want to have him in their
squad but which team best suit him and his style of play.
Martial is a direct player who
likes to take defenders head on and go for goal when he sees the opportunity.
So, in my opinion the teams that can best utilize his skills are:
4. Monaco
A return to his old club is
always an option. This clubbed with the fact that Moncao played some
scintillating attacking football last term which made them the Champions of
France and with the departure of Mbappe, Monaco really need a player of equal
quality and there is no doubt that Martial will easily fit the bill.
3. Napoli
Dries Mertens and Lorenzo Insigne
are currently on the form of their lives and it’d be hard to imagine Napoli
playing the level of football with which they are currently entertaining fans
without the skills of these two players but Mertens is 30 years old and will be
past his prime in a couple of years. Perhaps this is the time to find the ideal
replacement for him and Martial could just be the player to fill his shoes.
2. Tottenham Hotspurs
The intensity with which they
attack is quite well known. Tottenham rely heavily on attack minded players
like Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Ericson but they lack that wide-man
who can provide the extra attacking threat, which was precisely the reason why
they brought in Sissoko but he has been an obvious flop. Perhaps it’s time to
replace him. Imagine Tottenham’s attacking like up of Ericson, Alli and Martial
with Kane upfront.
1. Atletico
Madrid
It seems to be quite obvious that
Ateltico cannot hold onto Greizmann for much longer. He has reached the heights
in which every season he has to win a trophy. Greizmann is a player who is a
worthy competitor for Ballon d’or. Perhaps it’s time to replace one Frenchman
with another. I agree Martial is not at the level of his French compatriot but
he is a similar kind of a player and has age on his side. Also, Atletico’s
attacking game would definitely suit him and he could use that to his advantage
and showcase his talents and improve his skills.
Barcelona? Arsenal? Or any one of
these four teams? What do you think?
